The Brazilian Standard – NBR 5590 for steel pipes, was published by the Brazilian Association of Technical Standards, ABNT, in order to regulate the production and supply of Schedule Pipes. These pipes are made of carbon steel, with longitudinal weld, black or galvanized, aiming at conducting non-corrosive fluids under pressure, temperature and specific mechanical applications, although they are also used for common applications of conducting vapors, gases, water and compressed air. These steel pipes obtain mandatory certification after performing laboratory safety and efficiency tests. With specific dimensions, this type of pipe is used in mechanical and machining applications. Similar standard: ASTM A53.

Tuper transport tubes are made of carbon steel, welded and comply with NBR 5580 (light, medium and heavy class) and DIN EN 10255 standards:

from 1/2″ to 6″ • NBR 5590 (SCH 5 to 120, Degrees A and B) and ASTM A53 (Grades A and B): from 1/2″ to 12″. They are supplied to efficiently meet market needs such as fluid, water, gas, compressed air, oil and steam conduction. They comply with INMETRO’s compulsory legal certification, and guarantee safety for life and property.
Galvanized steel pipe Technical Specifications:

• Material: Hot-dip galvanized carbon steel;

• Coating: Zinc layer applied using the hot galvanizing process, with a minimum thickness in accordance with applicable standards;
• Length: Bars from 5.8 to 6 meters (or as required by the project)
• Wall Thickness: According to applicable NBR, ASTM or DIN standards;
Galvanized pipe Standards and Regulations:
ASTM A53 / A53M : Standard Specification for Pipe, Steel, Black and Hot-Dipped, Zinc-Coated, Welded and Seamless;
DIN 2440 : Steel tubes, medium-weight, suitable for screwing;
DIN EN 10255 : Black, Galvanized or Painted, plain ends, threaded (NPT) or grooved Grooved as per ISO 6182-12 or ANSI/AWWA C606-15
Galvanized Pipes Performance Characteristics:

Working Pressure: The pipes withstand the working pressure for medium class piping of the NBR 5580 standard;

Corrosion Resistance: Due to the galvanization process, the gi pipes have high resistance to corrosion, suitable for use in drinking water supply systems;
Connectivity: The pipe allows secure and watertight connections with other system components (valves, fittings, etc.) through standard threads or other appropriate techniques.
